Bruno Antunes Luis: CEO and co-founder of Mougli – the winner of the last edition of Lisbon Challenge (Spring ’14).
1. Why did you decide to do Lisbon Challenge?
Lisbon is a very attractive city. Since last year we saw Lisbon becoming the new Berlin of Europe. And in a way, we really wanted to be part of it.
We were lucky to have a product almost ready to be public. So at the time LC Spring’14 edition application opened, we applied straight away. And as LC is growth driven, it was even more perfect for us.
More personally as Franco-Portuguese and son of Portuguese immigrants. I was more that attracted by seeing what’s going on here.
2. What impact did it have on your business?
In our case, the main focus during those 3 months were on growth.
Meaning growing our customer base, network and team.
And that’s what we did. We also had a lot of contacts with investors and mentors from all over the world. So we’re now exploring the best scenario for our investment round.
And moreover, the fact of winning the Spring’14 edition provides a lot of media coverage.
3. What is the next for the future?
Still lot of work in front of us but also good things. Wait and see ![]()
4. Would you recommend Lisbon Challenge?
I truly recommend LC to any startup having a working prototype and a strong vision of what they want to achieve.
The network of LC is huge, I still don’t know how they succeed to bring all those talents to Lisbon.
And at least the application process will help startups shape your idea and see if it’s can turn into a business.
