Popcorn Metrics provide an analytics product for Marketers that don’t code, and graduated as Finalists on the first Lisbon Challenge in 2013. They were also invested by Seedcamp in 2013. Paul Boyce, CEO and CoFounder explains their experience with Seedcamp.
“While we were on the Lisbon Challenge, we were initially selected for Mini-Seedcamp Lisbon in October 2013. With over 200 startups applying we never imagined we would even get selected to pitch! Anyway after had a grueling pitch session on the night before, with the awesome Carlos Espinal (from Seedcamp), and a very stressful night basically re-writing our entire pitch from scratch to submit by midnight. (I think I slept like only 2 hours that night! It was really intense.) So, we pitched in front of a full room with hundreds of people in the Beta-i HQ at Central Station Lisbon. Its was a nerve-wracking and yet super-exciting experience. The pitch went well and we got great feedback from the judging panel and met Faber Ventures, a high tech seed-stage investor.
After Mini-Seedcamp we then and had to go to Seedcamp Berlin for a full week of pitching every day, pitching the Board of Seedcamp, and meeting with lots of investors and Mentors. It was an insane time; full of other startups - all competing for the same thing: Seedcamp London. And at this stage, after a huge zoom-in pivot our business was only 5 weeks old. We had built a working prototype and had just 3 trial customers. When we heard we had been selected to join the prestigious Seedcamp family, we were pretty stoked and within a week we were in London for our first week of induction at Seedcamp Academy. Since then, we’ve developed our initial product and exited private beta, and have already tracked and delivered over 800,000+ real user actions for over 90 online business across 18 countries, for a variety of businesses from SaaS and Ecommerce to Publishing and Digital Agencies. Our current integrations include awesome tools including KISSmetrics, mixpanel, customer.IO, Trak.io, Intercom.io and more.”
